We all know the magic of a curling wand but subjecting your hair to heat and pressure all the time can damage your tresses. So why not just bring out the natural curls in your hair without using a hot tool. Emphasize the beauty of your natural curly hair by following these hair care techniques.
1. Use curl-defining shampoo and conditioner.
These will not just keep your locks strong and lustrous but will keep your hair bouncy and full of life. Curl-defining hair products were made to outline your curls without weighing down your tresses.
2. Finger comb your hair.
Skip the comb or brush and your use your fingers to detangle your hair. Your natural curls will stay together if you apply gentle strokes in detangling it.
3. Twist it.
Part your slightly damp hair into about 4 sections and twist it outward or inward. The more sections you make, the tighter curls you’ll have. Twist hair often as it air dries. Once your hair is completely dried, pierce the curls out or flip it over and back.
4. Sleep with spiral buns.
Twist strands of your hair, wrap the strand around to create a bun and pin it down with bobby pins. Leave it on overnight. Untwirl the buns when you wake up and use your fingers to separate waves.
5. Braid it.
This is a tried and tested method of getting natural-looking waves. The smaller the braids, the smaller the curls you’ll get. If you want bigger curls, use single or double braid.
6. If you want big, bouncy curls, pull your hair up in a bun.
Carefully brush damp hair and ponytail it on the very top section of your head. Twist hair into a tight rope and wrap the ponytail around the base. Secure the hair by tucking the ends under the loop using bobby pins. Sleep on it or just wait for it to dry. Remove the pins and ponytail and shake out your locks.
7. Enhance your natural curl by staying away from hair products with sulfate.
Sulfates and silicones can dry out curly hair making it look frizzy. So switch to sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain the natural bounce of your tresses.
8. Use hair extensions.
ONYC Kinky Curly Hair extensions offer the most natural curls to match your hair. Enhance the look of your natural curls by adding volume through the use of ONYC Hair extensions.
9. Blot dry in sections.
You can maintain the natural waves intact by blotting your hair dry in sections. Using a soft towel, blot each section of hair starting from the roots down to the tips.
10. For kinky hair, you may skip the brush entirely.
Brushing it will separate the tight coils and it will look frizzy and poufy.
Curls indeed add style to any look. As long as they look healthy and defined, curls can greatly enhance your appearance. So bring out the natural curl in your hair with these methods and wear your curly hair proud.
